AKHENTEK
He has been deeply involved with the Canadian West coast dance community for almost a decade, rocking dance floors and disseminating intelligence through different workshops.
His legendary set at Shambhala's Labyrinth in '08 has inspired much creation and learning of new skills, both as producer and as a mastering engineer for other artists around the world.
Expect a true multimedia experience of all senses, as he pushes the lightship into high warp and launches the collective into a another legendary summer solstice
Whether playing down tempo tracks or full-on, Akhentek brings a rare sensitivity of frequencies to his visionary sets.
His unique combination of a background in Biology, Brazilian genetics, and high level techno-shamanic skill sets creates an activating, energetic experience on the dance floor. This has inspired a workshop and a novel approach to the psychophysiology of audio environments on the audiences.
BASILISK
Basilisk spins an eclectic variety of styles covering all points of the psychedelic trance spectrum. Although most of his mixes tend to focus on the deeper sound of progressive psytrance, his sets vary from blistering darkpsy, forest music, and the more sophisticated side of full-on, all the way down to cold and mechanical techtrance, deep and funky progressive house and minimal techno, morning trance, eclectic downtempo, and even a touch of the old school mid-nineties Goa trance sound. Basilisk mixes with harmonics in mind and enjoys building journeys through the music he loves.
CASSIEL
Electronic music has been a driving passion for Dallas since the early 90's. In 2000 he tried working his hand at writing electronic music with a good friend, using a old DOS program called Impulse Tracker. Well he certainly took the backseat for most of the production, as Dallas was more just learning what electronic music production was all about. The artists whom originally struck him were names such as Leftfield, Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Fluke, NIN, and the Orb. Trent Reznor probably had the largest impact on his style based on the use of very abrasive synthesis and mathematical drums.
He ended up finding his way onto dimly lit underground dance-floors and discovered the act of dj'ing. Dallas ended up meeting many local dj's such as Epic, Joseph Martin, Scoobee, and Rubixqube to name a few. After being even closer to the music, and being able to touch the record.........it was time to try as "Cassiel". This time spanned from 2000 to the present, and has landed gigs through the interior of BC, Vancouver, and out to Ucluelet.
Dj'ing since has become a passion. Always staying busy behind the decks, Cassiel has a mixing style unique to his tastes. Known to take his listeners up and down through many emotions in a set. "Every set will always be different, and your not sure what to expect", is a common quote from peers and and fans.
Cassiel's set performance can consist of Minimal, Ambient, Progressive House, Break-beats, Electronica, Techno, and Industrial. Depends what the feeling is at the time.
Archangel Cassiel is known as the Angel of Temperance and Good Fortune. He is associated with the following attributes: acceptance, wisdom, luck, purpose and positivity. His energy inspires us to expand our minds and think on a higher level. He helps to create peace and release disharmony in all situations.
He is often included in lists as being one of the seven archangels and often associated with the Seventh Heaven.
ENTELECHY
Entelechy describes a vital agent or force which helps direct an organism toward self-fulfillment. From this realm of sonic self-exploration, Entelechy weaves soundscapes ranging from fully ambient and downtempo, thru hip-hop, glitch, breaks, psytrance, trance fusions, and back again. With a background in music theory, composition, arrangement, production and performance, he seeks rich environmental textures as a cornerstone to the myriad sounds and styles telling the stories of our own becoming(s). In a world where the main.stream is clogged up by cash money radio's river of commercialized beat-structures, Entelechy knows the audiophonic evolution of intentional dance music is a key to the freeflow of conciousness and to our evolving relationships to the planet and each other...
DODD
The existence of Dodd has long been questioned by those who've not been on his dancefloor -- but those who've been there are fast and thorough believers. From his humble beginnings as a dancefloor observer Dodd carefully catalogued the sounds and reactions of the people in order to pinpoint the perfect palette of progressive sounds: blending trance and techno tidbits into memorable dancefloor journeys that transcend sonic expectations. With these dancefloor commandments Dodd has been rocking crowds consistently in Victoria, as well as both stages of the Entheos4 gathering in Summer of '08. Whether you're a believer or not, with the speakers as his chorus, you will be moved by the voice of Dodd...
BRIDEN
Briden has been on the decks for about 10 years now, playing clubs, raves, underground venues, and outdoor events. Over the last 5 years, he's fostered the Stereoshift Collective and collaborated to produce a host of exciting events. the last 6 months on the island have seen Briden take crowds by storm and become a local underground favorite, by playing a diverse array of sets suited to the particular night.
