EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman announced to New Yorkers, shortly after the 911 attacks on the World Trade Towers that: “. .I am glad to reassure the people of New York and Washington DC that their air is safe to breathe” and that we “. . .need not be concerned about environmental issues as [we] return to [our] homes and workplaces” Feb 14/2001 Rescue workers where told not to wear protective respirators so not to worry the general public. Toxicology data was withheld, changed and altered. Why lie about the toxic air conditions? In order to open up Wall Street and get back to business.
