FaeriesandFuckYeah!
Wow!
That was an epic event. I'm not sure what words will do this justice... I have often wondered why Canadian kids are so INTO electronic music. I mean, in a country that is honored by its traditions, I figured that there would be an abundance of performers of the hand made music variety, but everybody seems to be into the canned thing. Not that there aren't some DAMN fine Canadian musicians up here on the coast, but where are all the bluegrass shows? And WHY isn't anyone dancing at these? Except me, of course, and a couple of others, usually kids. But tonight I figured it out. These "canned" music events like Faeries and Fools and Shambala basically reproduce the Bay Area "acid tests" with technology times A THOUSAND! Give a bunch of high tech, new age "turned on" kids the opportunity to create a virtual playground or summer camp for a psychedelic all-night danceathon and the results are...

Evolution,
a new Church, to replace the old ones that everybodys so afraid of.
The Church of Dance.
I was introduced and indoctrinated at the Big I's Exstaticx Dance, but I never appreciated it as a worldwide movement until now.
Dues? oh yeah... you gotta shake dat ass!
God? oh yeah! She's moving that body like it was water! Hell? Hell??? Damn right!
When you ain't DANCIN'!
Faeries and Fools?
No, more like priests and priestesses of the new Holy Order!
But I've heard faeries do a bit of healin...and this Church has a LOT of healing to do.
Tonight I faced my shadow, and I know we're facing our collective shadow as is evidenced by the state of the forest on the way to the event. Thrashed!! Our planet, destroyed by our own power.
What is the solution? Biodiesel? Hydrogen boosters? Solar Showers?
Sure, I'll be pushin for new sustsainable technology (or old) on the way down. But do we have time? I mean for any of those things to make a difference? Will they be enough to pull us out of our collective nosedive before its too late? Is it too late already?
Church of Dance
only one Commandment...
Thou SHALT dance!
Can you imagine soldiers dancing instead of fighting?
Politicians dancing instead of lying?
Your grandma fuckin' tearing it up?
Oh yeah?
If you can, we're all on the same boat... and we're really all in one boat anyhow.
So if you're reading this...
You're a new member! Your job is to recruit as many of your friends as you can!
Wait! No, be a missionary! Convince strangers to join!
We're gonna teach this whole fuckin' world how to Dance!
Amen.
