Quoth the raven...
If avian avarice were a means of determining excellence then The Superior would be a step ahead of the rest with their off kilter decoration featuring gravity impaired chairs on the wall sporting a choral flock of 'Nevermores' keeping an eye on the numinous goings on below. While the outdoor patio reflects a quiet blue ambiance and the relaxed escape induced by flowing water, the interior is full of local artwork and creative exuberance that charms and still maintains a dusky relaxed note. Even while the eye roves about trying to uncover the each and every visual quirk.
If the zany aesthetics don't catch your fancy then the lyrical consumption will. With live jazz music every night of the week, ranging the gamut from sly and sultry vocals to boisterous cabaret and fiddling there's an appeal for everyone whether or not you even think you enjoy jazz. With the nightly music posted more than a month in advance you can chart your aura of choice to suit.
But if you've come solely for the gastronomic entreaty then you'll still not be disappointed. With a compact menu whose length and variety is long surpassed by their wine and sake list, you'll find each entree or tapa packed with gourmet flavor which would bellow it's own juicy perfection if only given voice. Whether you want the best grilled cheese sandwich of your life or a luscious striploin steak, you can satisfy your lust and drench the afterglow with a Silk Road tea or a frothy Italian cream soda. The Superior offers a unique taste and style on a single plate that are hard to beat, a notch less the stuffy multiple courses of a high end bistro but at half the cost with the same quality of local organic produce, free range meats, artisan cheeses, microbrewery beer and Okanagan Valley wines.
This restaurant is always at the top of my list whether I just want a strong coffee on a rainy day or a quality night of music and fine dining.
