Lower cost of car repairs.
You know the auto shops...not sparkling sterile, not high rental real estate, industrial hard-to-get-at places where the guy who answers the phone with a thick accent also does the repairs. They know a combustion engine better than their own family but do not have the Canadian certificates so cannot work at Canadian Tire, eg.. These guys fall into 2 categories: the good ones who really, really want your business and are more honest than you plus two, the theives every North American warns you about. So you gotta be careful. Send your husband to weed them out. Try one, if you don't feel it was great (price, service, attitude) go find another. The good ones are out there. You will save thousands.
Eg. I was the very first client of an Iraqi car rental location. I eventually boughrt one of his cars. Reliable, cheap, repairs a little over cost. I then went with one of their machanics I trusted and who did the work when he broke away. Totally ripped me off so I went back to the Iraqi, for the last 10 years.

Give them a chance. They are here and you cut out the corporation supporting the obsolete auto industry. - Roy , posted 09/13/07
